Mandy Moore voices for Rapunzel in "Tangled"

Posted by Sai

Mandy Moore voices Rapunzel
For actress and recording artist Mandy Moore, lending her voice to the character of Rapunzel in Walt Disney Animation Studio's “Tangled” was an eye-opening experience.

She explains, “There’s a unique challenge in having to imagine a world that doesn’t necessarily exist, using story sketches and the directors’ descriptions to visualize the storyline. At the end of the day, all you really have to rely on is your imagination. The most enjoyable part of being involved in ‘Tangled’ has been tapping into a creative side of my brain that I’ve never tapped into before. You have to put aside all reservations and just go for it and have fun. I feel like it’s the ultimate experience of being a kid again, in a sense, because you do get to investigate what it might be like to live in this fantastical world and be this character.”

Moore further discusses “Tangled” in the following interview:

Q. Who is Rapunzel in this reinvented version?

Mandy Moore. Rapunzel is a feisty, spirited, curious really engaged young woman. She’s 17, about to be 18, and we meet her right on the cusp of that very important birthday. She’s lived in a tower all her life, but she’s extremely passionate, creative and eager to investigate the world. She’s so open and ready to embrace whatever comes her way; she definitely has a sense of adventure. She’s been dreaming her entire life about going out into the world to learn more about these floating lights that appear every year on her birthday. The film has an overwhelming theme of female empowerment—she’s a lot stronger than even she realizes.

Christina Aguilera makes her film debut with "Burlesque"

Christina Aguilera
After slithering her slinky self through countless music videos, pop siren Christina Aguilera will sizzle on movie screens for the first time in Columbia Pictures’ song-filled drama “Burlesque.”

"It's sexy, it's sensual," she promises. "The whole idea of burlesque has always intrigued me. The art of the tease, the dance, beautiful women — need I say more?"

Aguilera plays Ali, a plucky girl from Iowa who runs off to the big city to follow her dreams and lands a job at a struggling nightclub. Yet it was her character's heart and grit that caught her eye. Says Aguilera, who has been candid about her own childhood travails: "It wasn't just a girl who comes to L.A. and makes it big. It was a girl who had suffered and felt pain, been in seven foster homes. She doesn't let her past make her a victim. And that to me was so appealing. I could relate to Ali as a whole: having this dream, being denied, getting a chance, and getting people to take you seriously, because it took a few times before someone bit and I got my big break,” she says.

Tom Cavanagh
If Yogi is the unstoppable force, Ranger Smith played by Tom Cavanagh (TV’s “Ed”) is the immovable object in his path, in Warner Bros.’ new 3D comedy adventure “Yogi Bear.”

Yogi -- Jellystone Park’s notorious troublemaker -- has always relied on his quick wit and fast feet to stay one step ahead of irate campers while dodging his long-suffering nemesis, Ranger Smith. With all his rules and regulations—plus a never-ending supply of signs advising PLEASE DON’T FEED THE BEARS—Smith is the law in Jellystone Park. Which means, in addition to devising ever-more-ingenious ways of helping himself to forbidden food, Yogi must always think of ways to evade this protector of park patrons—a man he respectfully addresses as “Mr. Ranger, Sir,” when he’s caught red-handed…red, as in cherry pie.

Movie Review: 127 Hours

By Sai

There is no force on Earth more powerful than the will to live.
LIFE IS AN ADVENTURE

I think nobody will contradict me for saying, "Life is an adventure." This whole journey leads to a lot of mistakes and learnings. Some of us lives like every day is their last day on Earth. They travel, they eat, they shop, they love and they are open to new things in life. And for some, they are afraid to even go out of their room to explore.

I really believe in the statement above: "There is no force on Earth more powerful than the will to live." You will really do anything just to live. I even watched a movie before, that even though the characters find cannibalism immoral, they still ate their own kind (human) just to live.

The Rite Movie Review

By Sai

Most of us experience that point in our life where we doubt what we believe in. We question the belief that the elders are passing unto us. It is a necessity for us to believe in something.

TO SEE IS TO BELIEVE

Faith is something that some of us doesn't have. Faith defines how well we believe in something and it gives us the reason to fight for it. When someone asks you about faith you automatically think of having faith in the Almighty One. I actually find this movie a bit hilarious (story-wise) because Fr. Michael Kovak has nothing but the eagerness to scorn both the belief that there's heaven and hell.
