Final film in "The Hobbit" trilogy in cinemas July 18, 2014

MOVIE BLOG: Warner Bros Pictures and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures announced the release in Peter Jackson's trilogy adaptation of J.R.R Tolkien's The Hobbit worldwide on July 18, 2014.
The first film in the trilogy, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, opens on December 14, 2012 followed by the second flm, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, which will be released on December 13, 2013. The Hobbit trilogy will be released in High Frame Rate (HFR) 3D, IMAX, 2D and other formats.
We wanted to have a shorter gap between the second and third films of ‘The Hobbit’ Trilogy. Opening in July affords us not only the perfect summer tentpole, but fans will have less time to wait for the finale of this epic adventure. - Dan Fellman, President of Domestic Distribution, Warner Bros. The Hobbit: There and Back Again’ will be an action spectacle and an emotional conclusion for this already much-anticipated trilogy. The trilogy is set in Middle-earth 60 years before The Lord of the Rings.The screenplay for the first film in the trilogy, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, is by Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens, Peter Jackson, and Guillermo del Toro. Jackson co-produced this film with Carolynne Cunningham, Zane Weiner and Fran Walsh while Alan Horn, Toby Emmerich, Ken Kamins and Carolyn Blackwood are the executive producers with Boyens and Eileen Moran as the co-producers.

The trilogy films are being shot in digital 3D using stereo technology and the latest cameras for a great movie experience. I cannot wait to see this film!
