Movie Review: X-Men First Class

By Sai
I just got home from the X-Men First Class press screening at SM Mall of Asia, Cinema 1 with my boyfriend and my other movie blogger friends. Do you want to know what I think about this movie? If so, then keep reading!

FREAKIN' AMAZING!

This movie is amazing! I love the sound effects, the screenplay, how the movie was edited and the thrill in the fight scenes are spectacular! I don't want to give you spoilers but we pretty much know how Professor X, Magneto and the rest of the X-Men were created through Marvel comics but I praise this movie because it really gave life to the characters in today's time.

X-Men First Class
I confess that I am not updated or in any way knowledgeable about Marvel heroes and how they became one. All I know is that there's X-Men, Professor X, Wolverine, Cyclops, Magneto but I don't really know the entire story but with this movie I can really relate. I think it's very informative for people like me who was not really into superheroes when I was young. Well, I was so busy with my Barbie that time so I guess that's a valid reason. I get to understand the story behind X-Men and Magneto's friendship with Professor X before they became enemies. I just feel so bad that their friendship suffered because of their differences in their beliefs. I can't blame Magneto for his decision to go against human race. He's been through a lot and he's suffering from a very traumatic experience from the past.

"MUTANT AND PROUD TO BE ONE"

Professor X
I'd like to equate mutant with being different. When someone is different, we might think that they are freaks or weirdos but I guess the lesson in this movie is that you have to love yourself before others love you. You have to accept who you are before society accepts you. It is true that society dictates the norms but who cares! Not all norms are right. Sometimes, you don't have to try to fit in. What makes you different makes you unique and what makes you unique makes you stand out. So, if you're a mutant (different) then be proud of it!

I am inviting everyone to watch X-Men First Class starting today in your favorite cinemas! Watch the trailer below to see what's in store for you in this movie.

  1. I loved the movie myself. Me and my boyfriend actually went to see it twice, the second time just yesterday.

All awesome and such great acting. The characters feel human (hehe) and the action is wonderful. And yes, I totally fell in love with James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender.

  3. The film opens with the same scene that opened the first film, introducing us to Erik Lehnsherr as he's separated from his mother at a Nazi prison camp. These first scenes, particularly Erik meeting his mortal enemy Sebastian Shaw (Kevin Bacon), are surprisingly effective.
